Good album - Good musicianship and well put together. Nice, fast and angry. Awesome drumming. The only thing I could do without is the harmonized vocals. However, some people like that sort of thing. I personally would rather them stick with the screaming :)

Dino Yeung - All I can Say is: Dino!!! Tim Yeung!!! Come on. E-harmony put them together. Thats a match made in heaven. This album is brutal to the core! It s great! I Recommend it!

Some of the sickest sh-t I ve heard in a while...well, since FF! - I can t even really try to familiarize this band and it s sound by trying to compare it to others, because it just doesn t sound like others! It is by and far some of the heaviest sh-t since Fear Factory and maybe Strapping Young Lad.Some bands that I think would be or maybe have tried to be as heavy as these guys in at least the last ten to fifteen years, and yet STILL DON T MATCH UP could be: Machine Head, Slayer, Soilwork, Mnemic, Sepultura, even the great Fear Factory (who I still highly regard and think are incredible) doesn t truly match the intensity and brutality that Cazares and Yeung are able to produce on this album. While it is incredibly brutal, tough, and all that, I have to agree with some here and say that it does lack a little inginuity and the ability to change it up a little. I ve always been a serious follower of all things that ll wreck your neck ...but I really think that Cazares could possibly drop his pride a little and maybe add some synth or something to juice it up.Otherwise, it you re like me, a true fan of heaviest of heavy...you should pick this one up!

Excellent to the Extreme!! - The first time I heard Divine Heresy, I listened to their song Bleed the Fifth on my Music Choice metal station just last year, and I was suddenly amazed and blown away and I was like Whoa!! Where did these guys come from. Little did I knew, that I would be even more thrilled when I found out that ex-Fear Factory guitarist Dino Cazares was in this band. So I went out and bought the debut album Bleed the Fifth at FYE down in Eau Claire a couple months ago, and I instantly fell in love with it within a matter of seconds. Consisting of guitarist Dino Cazares (who also played bass on this album except on tracks six Rise of the Scorned and ten Closure in which Static-X s Tony Campos performed bass on), drummer Tim Yeung and vocalist Tommy Vext, Divine Heresy s full length debut Bleed the Fifth from Century Media is an absolute massive, bludgeoning, jackhammering, high energy extreme metal beatdown on your senses, all fully equipped with vicious brutal vocals, jackhammering riffs and destructive blasting double bass drumwork. I enjoy listening to this album almost every week, especially when I m lifting weights at the gym. Dino s riffs are just like a jackhammer pounding and punching away at your skull. Man, this guy never sounded better on guitar, and he even solos a bit as well. Tim s drumming is absolutely fast and destructive with wicked slamming blastbeats and machine-gun-like double bass kicking. Tommy s vocals on here are just fierce, vicious and menacing ranging from death metal screaming, to Burton C.Bell-style melodic clean singing, to angry harsh Pantera-style screams. Every song on this album is just awesome and full of high energy and intensity, but here s a look at my favorites on here. My favorite song on here no doubt has got to be the title track Bleed the Fifth which opens up the album with a bang and I DO mean a serious bang. It starts off with a sound of a gunshot and it s suddenly followed by a lethal barrage of maniacal blasting drums, mean fiery riffs and powerful, barking screams. This song is also highlighted by an angry, intense shout-along chorus and a nice winding guitar solo by Dino. Next up, we have track two Failed Creation which is highlighted by wicked frightening screams, more blasting drumwork and bludgeoning riffs and a strong melodic sung chorus. Track three This Threat is Real is another favorite on here that features features massive, unstoppable walls of teeth-grinding riffs, pounding drums and another great shout-along chorus as well as a brief melodic solo. The fourth track Impossible is Nothing is another one of my favorites on here that is highlighted by hammering double bass drum onslaughts, vicious machine-gun like riffage, menacing vocals, as well as another great melodic chorus and another nice winding guitar solo, while track five Savior Self features fast, pounding straight-ahead drumming, headbanging induced riffs and another melodic sung chorus. Track six Rise of the Scorned starts off with some nice accoustic guitar strings until going into high gear with fast, blasting drums, mad shredding riffs and vicious deadly screaming vocals. Track seven False Gospel is another favorite of mine that features more unstoppable double bass drum onslaughts and mad shredding riffs, harsh, barking screams and a powerful, addicting chorus. The closing track appropriately entitled Closure is hightlighted by amazing clean melodic singing by Tommy. Please read on for my song ratings.Jeremy s song ratings:1. Bleed the Fifth (3:06) - 5/52. Failed Creation (3:37) - 5/53. This Threat is Real (4:23) - 5/54. Impossible is Nothing (3:55) - 5/55. Savior Self (3:17) - 5/56. Rise of the Scorned (4:54) - 5/57. False Gospel (3:20) - 5/58. Soul Decoded (Now and Forever) (4:01) - 5/59. Royal Blood Heresy (4:42) - 5/510. Closure (3:33) - 5/5Overall, If you enjoy great brutal, abrasive, extreme metal like Fear Factory, Pantera and other great stuff like that, then by all means, you ll definately enjoy Divine Heresy. Bleed the Fifth is an absolute must-have for any fan of extreme metal, trust me, it truly redefines the true meaning of extreme, and it s also an excellent cd to listen to especially while you re working out at the gym and stuff. Even fans of industrial metal, death metal, and melodic death metal will enjoy this album as well. Bottom line, this is an excellent album, so buy it now.

Absolutely Amazing! - I had seen many advertisements for Divine Heresy at local record stores and also in magazines, but paid no attention to them. That was until I heard Failed Creation and then I was hooked, right away. When I purchased the album the initial pleasure I had with the band only grew. Yes, at many times on the album there are parts that sound similar or exactly like Fear Factory but there are portions that are added that are vastly different. For instance, the closing track Closure is a far slower track compared to the rest of the album and show cases a different sound for the band. Also on the title track the band goes into a very Pantera sounding breakdown as it comes to a close. The reason that this album gets a four star rating rather than a five star rating is simply for two reasons. First is the song Soul Decoded (Now and Forever), it just sounds like filler compared to the brilliance of the other songs. It doesn t flow as well and the rhythm is just off. The second being the chorus lines on most of the songs is the same structure and gets redundant. The lyrics on the album are very strong, throughout, but the same format time and time again gets a little boring.Divine Heresy is a band I am going to keep my eye on in the coming years. They make great use of the skill and experience the band members have to create a sound that could one day match the sum of its parts and have the perfect album. The song writing, for the most part, is great. The band meshes well, and the vocalist uses his voice not only to deliver the lyrics, but also to create an additional instrumentation that not all vocalists can present. This album will not disappoint!
